Lucky Pro Wrestling “Caged Mayhem”

Hudson Elks Pavillion Hudson, MA USA

September 26, 2014

President: Jim Burgoyne

Vice President: Brian Cairo

Ring Announcer: Adam Salzer

Referees: Senior Referee Tony S., Dan Tanaka, Adam Theriault

Matches:

1.  Tomahawk vs. Scotty Slade.  W – Tomahawk

Tomahawk is well-loved by the LPW crowd.  Not so much Slade.  His first move was to steal Tomahawk’s War Bonnet and try it on like a clown.  This insult upset and motivated the Indian Warrior, who had to be restrained by the Referee.

Slade also made the mistake of mocking Tomahawk’s trademark Chop.  That came back to bite him in an example of poetic justice.  Tomahawk finished the wise guy off by coming off the top rope with a finishing Chop and a pin.  See ya Scotty.

2. “Opportunity Knocks” Title Shot Triple Threat Match.  Anthony Stone vs. Julian Starr vs. “The Devil’s Reject” Brandon Webb. W – Webb

The Professor has stated before that he has grown weary of Triple Threat Matches. Nonetheless, this was a quality match between three of the top athletes in New England. The reward for victory in this match was anything but a gimmick – a shot at the Heavyweight Title valid for 12 months.

The spots were so fast it was hard to keep up.  Lots of technical moves such as Tilt-a-Whirls and Backbreakers.  Stone finishes things by flying off the top rope and giving Mr. Starr his knees to the chest.  Stone leaves with the Briefcase containing the title shot contract.

3. Setup for Caged Mayhem

Jim Burgoyne and Brian Cairo make it official.  Referee Tony S. takes control of the proceedings.  Whoever’s side wins the Cage Match gets the other guy’s shares of LPW.

Apparently there was a B.O.D. meeting the night before to which Mr. Cairo was not invited.  He was not happy about this.  A coin toss won by Cairo determined that High Society would have the first cage entrant.  Burgoyne slapped Cairo before both men left the ring.

A classic tag team match with 4 talented technicians.  Casanova pins Mr. Sexton off the top rope while James and Romano hear birdies on the floor.

5. LPW Heavyweight Championship Match.  “The Platinum Playboy” J-Busta vs. Mikey Webb (C).  W – Webb

J-Busta clearly wanted the title and you could feel his contempt for Incumbent Mikey Webb.  In the course of this match The Playboy did everything he could to beat the snot out of Webb.  Besides all the standard scientific moves that a veteran brings to bear in the ring, He smashed Webb headfirst into a trailer and even hit him in the head with the Bell.  Mr. Webb got in his own licks, at one point putting J-Busta through a merch table.   This ugly tale ended when J-Busta foolishly attempted to pin a prostrate Webb with one finger.  Webb tricked him into some kind of painful arm bar variant and J-Busta tapped out.

6. Anthony Stone vs. Mikey Webb.  W – Stone (New LPW Heavyweight Champion)

In a surprise move, Anthony Stone jumped in the ring, briefcase in hand, immediately following Mr. Webb’s victory over The Platinum Playboy.  He decided to cash in his title shot immediately.  Stone gave Webb the option of waiting or of taking him on tonight. Webb’s ego caused him to make a very foolish decision.  He took on Stone and lost his Title.

7. Inaugural LPW Women’s Championship Match.  Nikki Valentine vs. Davienne.  W. Valentine

On the surface this appeared a fairly even contest. Davienne has come a long way in a short time, winning many matches including a Championship of her own at NECW. However, the skill, conditioning, and experience of Nikki Valentine are far beyond Davienne’s.  In a shoot match against Valentine, The Professor feels that Davienne would be brought to the hospital on a stretcher in a very few minutes.

Ms. Valentine outsmarted the youngster and made it out of the cage in short order. She is now the first LPW Women’s Champion – deservedly so.

8. Caged Mayhem – Brian Fury & The Bash Brothers (Vernon Vicallo & Cam Zagami) with Jim Burgoyne vs. High Society (Todd Sople, Jason Blade, Anthony Green with Brian Cairo). W – Fury & Bash Brothers

The stakes of this match were high.  The winning faction would gain the other’s shares in the company, meaning either Mr. Burgoyne or Mr. Cairo would own it all.  Young Green took the worst of it, being bloodied by Sensei Cairo in the first few minutes.
