SPW October 24, 2014 Franklin Elks, Franklin, MA USA
Ring Announcer: Sgt. Muldoon. Referees: Chris McCluskey, Derek Moore
Promoter: Chris Blackheart. Commissioner: Frank Rocha
Sgt. Muldoon started the night off with a 10-Bell Salute to The Late Ox Baker. R.I.P.
1. Superstar Shawn Candido v. Five Star Scott Ledeur. W – Candido
Two evenly matched technicians face off in a strong opener. The Superstar sported a new Superman Singlet. Ego is not a problem for Shawn Candido.
The Superstar took advantage of a slightly off Sunset Flip and used the ropes to pin Scott Ledeur. Mr. Ledeur protested and even referred Referee McCluskey to This Correspondent’s video. The Professor feels that Candido stole the match Fair-and-Square.
2. Nicholas Night v. Benny Blanco. W – Night
Mr. Blanco has quickly established himself as a trouble-making Heel in SPW. He’s a particular problem for #1 Contender Keanu. Both Blanco and Night are after the title and it was inevitable that the Matchmakers would have them face each other.
This match was even with perhaps a slight advantage going to Blanco based on his use of a foreign object on Night’s side. Referee McCluskey saw none of it.
An angry Keanu came out and confronted Blanco. This distraction may have been the deciding factor that allowed the former Champion to pin the ROH star.
Mr. Night expressed appreciation for Keanu’s intervention and pledged to have his back going forward. Is this the start of an alliance? Maybe these two should consider combining into a Tag Team.
3. Buck Nasty v. Dr. Roger Williams v. D.J. A.C. W – Nasty
This match was originally a Nasty v. Williams Contest but Trainee A.C. couldn’t resist taunting the big man from Deliverance by scratching over his interview segment. Not the best move given that Buck was accompanied by his dangerous Father, Papa Nasty.
Mr. Nasty is obviously sick of the upstart and asked the officials to make this match a Triple Threat after goading the youngster into the ring. A.C., a Franklin native, felt he couldn’t refuse. The vanity of youth…
Basically, Dr. Williams wisely stayed out of the punishment zone for the most part (Papa Nasty kept harassing him) and allowed the kid to get the beating. He did. Mr. Nasty obliterated the Trainee. He sent him over the top rope with a Clothesline, and finally put him out of his misery with a Big Splash.
Mr. Nasty announced that Papa had found him a new Tag Team Partner from their hometown of Deliverance, AL. We’ll see who this turns out to be.
4. The Maniacal Jack Krueger v. Zero. W – Krueger
Zero is the new Roger Williams. His job is to get the snot beat out of him by more experienced men. Krueger is now very high in the ranks and The Professor questions the humanity of allowing the masked man to fight so far above his level. (Then again, the office permitted a match with Levesque recently with predictable consequences).
The Professor is not sure what to call this devastating submission hold, but it took out Zero easily. Krueger refused to relinquish the hold even after the bell and the Referee warning him of a decision reversal. Chris Matrix ran to the rescue when it looked like the youth might expire. He challenged Krueger right on the spot. Jack then dedicated Matrix as a sacrifice to “his Mistress”. No mirror tonight but still psychotic it seems.
5. Chris Matrix v. The Maniacal Jack Krueger. W – Matrix
Krueger accepted Matrix’ challenge. Check out Matrix’s finishing Moonsault. The Refflers reveal their new mystery partner strategy to finally vanquish The Cartel.
6. Heavyweight Championship Match: The New Scott Levesque (C) v. Keanu. W – Levesque
In Professional Wrestling, the term “Fair” is elastic.
If you want to be a Champion you have to be able to deal with complicated machinations, guile, politics, and slippery tactics. Maybe Keanu is too much of a Boy Scout. The Face’s Dilemma if you will. Does he go to the back of the line or will the officials continue this Championship rivalry? Time will tell.
