We’re looking for a permanent home for our foster dog Kenny. He’s a four-year-old hound. He’s doing great in obedience school. He’s learning every day and will make a great companion for the right people.
Would you consider passing this along to your Facebook or other social media networks? We, and Kenny, would appreciate it. Thanks.
If you would like to meet Kenny please contact The Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton, MA. 508-435-6938.
There’s whole worlds of Professional Wrestling (a supposedly dead sport) out there beyond New England. Japan continues its wrestling tradition.

Second straight sell out of the SPW facility. A great night full of surprises.
Match 1. Dr. Roger Williams & Richie Rich vs. The Convicts. W – Williams & Rich
Despite facing each other in singles competition the previous night, Williams & Rich performed well as a team. Rich used his trademark head butt to the groin on one of the Convicts to great effect. Rich had one of the miscreants in a submission hold but the other lifer put his hand on the rope for the escape. Dr. Williams finished the match with a Guillotine while Rich held his victim. Rich pins for the win.
Lockdown Segment: Levesque calls out A.C
Levesque calls out the rookie who he claims is an entitled punk. He granted the youth a title shot later in the evening.
Match 2. Redemption v. Rob Roberts. W – Redemption
Rob Roberts is improving but his hardcore skills were completely useless against Rev. Redemption. This was a slaughter.
Match 3. Superstar Shawn Candido v. Nick Night. W – Night
Something never seen by The Professor and The Co-Conspirator: Candido Tapped out. Unbelievable.
Match 4. Superstar Shawn Candido v. Trainee. W – Candido
Mr. Candido has been complaining for some time about the bum’s rush he’s been getting from the Showcase Matchmakers. This time his gripe was with the trainee referee. He decided to give one of his classic lessons to the kid with predictable and painful results.
Match 5. Zero v. Random Man From The Crowd. W – Zero
Zero was not scheduled and did not have an opponent. He issued an open challenge and a “random” giant of a man in the audience accepted. It was the notorious Lumberjake, in street clothes enjoying a night as a spectator. Despite the 200 pound weight difference, Zero showed some acrobatics reminiscent of Todo Loco. Lumberjake threw the smaller man out of the ring at one point. Zero managed to trip the big guy for the unlikely pin.
Match 6: The Glamour Express v. The Refflers (C). W – The Refflers
A rematch from the night before with the same end result. Just when The Refflers get rid of The Cartel and put away some in-house teams, top teams from the Northeast start coming at them. This was a hard-fought contest and its clear that on any given night The Glamour Express could take the belts. The Refflers held their own but it was one of their tougher matches.
The Glamour boys wasted no time and attacked The Refflers during their entrance “1,2,3,..OH Yeah” gimmick. Ramona screamed a lot as different pain points were hit by The Refflers. The G.E. again showed mastery of Ref distraction with some serious double-teaming. They Wishboned Ledeur, who responded with a Backbreaker against Pimp Daddy. Paiva sure likes to bite and he took a chunk out of Matrix. Matrix pins Ramona for the win.
Match 7: Sensational Scott Levesque(C) vs. D.J. A.C. W – A.C. (New Champion)
Levesque’s scorn for the kid was evident. He spit at the youth, did his begging for mercy routine followed by an eye poke, and gave A.C. multiple flying knees off top turnbuckle.
The locker room came out to congratulate the new Champion and Mr. Levesque graciously hugged him as well.
Shock of the year so far. Levesque is bested by a trainee. The Professor and Co-Conspirator were shocked to say the least. We feel that this is a fluke and that Scott Levesque was not himself due to coming back too soon from a concussion. No disrespect to A.C who acquitted himself courageously against the Wrestling Legend.

The crowd was huge and on fire. There were several notables in the audience including Lumberjake, Mike Dube, and Rob Sandow. Great night. SPW is on a roll.
Match 1. Dan Terry & Keanu “The Flyin Hawaiian”. W – Terry
Dan Terry, the new Prometheus, came out and provided the ringside fans with generous constructive criticism of their health and physiques. Very public-spirited of him. Keanu looks to be in excellent ring condition. He must have a new workout regime because he looked more fit than before the holidays. The match was fairly even until Benny Blanco sneaked in and knocked the Hawaiian off the second turnbuckle, allowing Terry to win by pinfall.
Match 2. “Black Wolf” Derek Andrews v. The Convicts (with Rich Bass). W – Andrews
Rich Bass made a surprise appearance (sort of) at the Convicts’ side. He offered the felons $500 to take out Blackwolf. They accepted. They failed miserably.
At one point Blackwolf tossed the little Convict literally across the ring. He administered devastating chops to the miscreants, opening their shirts first for maximum punishment. Rich Bass was disappointed and took it out on the Convicts in his typical mature way – he beat the already beaten men with his clipboard before fleeing the scene.
Match 3. Nicholas Night v. Benny Blanco. W – Night
This was a high-energy match between two of the top SPW contenders. The crowd wasted no time in mocking Blanco with chants of “Savio Vega!”. Highlights were Night using the second rope on Blanco’s tender bits, and Blanco almost closing the deal with a savage Boston Crab. At one point Referee McCluskey stopped a count at 2 for no apparent reason. Blanco escaped temporarily when Referee Moore intervened and kicked McCluskey out of the match (not sure with what authority he did this given that McCluskey is the Senior Referee). Moore restarted the match and Night dropped Blanco on his head with a flying elbow off the ropes. Mr. Blanco was seriously hurt and had to be helped out by officials.
Then something really weird happened. As Mr. Night was being interviewed in the ring by Sgt. Muldoon, he was ambushed by newcomer “The Black Swan” who applied one of the harshest stretches The Professor has seen in a while. He really hurt Mr. Night then quickly left the ring with a bow.
Match 4. Richie Rich v. Dr Roger Williams. W – Rich
Former WWF star Rich faced SPW contender Williams in a decent match. Dr. Williams handled the veteran well. He beat on Rich’s hand, Rich responded with a head butt to the groin. Dr. Williams applied his trademark stretch to end the match but the older man broke free.
Match 5. Tag Team Championship Match: The Refflers (C) v. The Glamour Express. W – The Refflers
The Refflers were sporting new ring gear appropriate to their elevated status in New England. This was a barn burner of a title match. Highlights include both teams stretching their opponents, trouble-maker Paiva biting Matrix on his head, and a weird fan chant “Juicy Fruit”. The Glamour Express is skilled at Referee distraction and used it to double team throughout the match. Matrix took a real beating but was quick on his feet and at one point made the G.E. hit themselves. Ramona kicked Matrix in the head and almost go a pin but Matrix tagged Scott Ledeur who commenced with a severe beat down of Romano & Paiva. The Refflers used a double suplex on Ramona and one of their proprietary spinning moves to finish off Paiva. Refflers keep their titles.
The Professor senses a revival is occurring in Independent Professional Wrestling in New England. He posits as evidence the wealth of new tag teams from further and further afield that are coming here to compete. This phenomenon crosses all N.E. promotions.
Here’s a great championship matchup coming up in Showcase Pro Wrestling, a company that is getting some real heat in the Tag Team Division. We’ll be covering this show and will have a full report:
