Attending a Beyond Wrestling show at Fete is a marathon of sensory overload. Mr. Cordeiro and company have come up with a way to pack many times more content into a show than any other promotion around. This isn’t just the 12 matches instead of the traditional 7 and the fact that the whole show from standing in line to the end is six hours. It’s what happens during the six hours. The Professor’s commentary barely scratches the surface of each contest.
1. Unadvertised Bonus Match: “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. “Dynomite” Danny Cannon. W. – Bailey
Cannon came out of retirement for this show. His passion is still there. Montreal native Bailey entered wearing a martial arts Gi and bowed profusely to the audience and his opponent. Then the two men proceeded to beat each other savagely. More kicks were delivered in this one match than in most shows. Bailey came out on top with a pin. A great first match to get the night started.

2. “The Kingdom” Matt Taven & Mike Bennett (with Maria Kenellis) vs. Biff Busick & Drew Gulak. W. – The Kingdom
This was hardly a match. Too much clowning by The Kingdom and too little wrestling. The front row fans were audibly frustrated by this. Busick never even got in which was a disappointment to all. Taven pinned Gulak with a handful of tights and in a few short minutes it was all over. It seemed like a waste of 4 great workers.

3. Four Way Tag Team Match: The Garden State Gods (Eric Corvis & Myke Quest) vs. Da Hoodz (Davey Cash & Kris Pyro) vs. Sybmiote (Rickey Shane Page & Davey Vega) vs. Anthony Stone & Nicholas Kaye. W. – The Garden State Gods
Insanity and intensity from four great teams. So much was going on that its hard to relate. The most astonishing part was a Vega Hurricarana on Stone off the top rope and onto the cement below. Anthony Stone survived and was seen walking under his own power later in the show. Da Hoodz seemed to be the most cohesive team though The Gods stole the show and the win.

4. David Starr vs. Johnny Gargano. W. – Starr
The fans clearly favored Mr. Gargano despite Starr’s attempts to win them over. The opponents got into punch fest at one point and the fans in rapid succession yelled “Yay” when Gargano landed a blow and “Boo” when Starr did the same.
The match was fairly even. Late in the contest Gargano refused to release a choke hold on Starr when Starr had the ropes per Referee Quinn’s orders. Gargano then bashed into Quinn (intentionally, not clear). This may have been a factor in Mr. Quinn’s count speed when Starr had Gargano in a submission hold. There was word of a foreign object but this correspondent didn’t see one.

5. The Beaver Boys (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) vs. Bryan Myers & Ryan Galone. W. – The Beaver Boys
Four intense athletes go at it. Silver was the standout. Being a couple of heads smaller than his opponents, he was able to subject them to shoulder breakers, suplexes, power slams, etc. Maybe size doesn’t matter after all.

6. Casket Match: Stockade vs. Matt Tremont W. – Tremont
This wasn’t a hardcore match. It was a death match. These two maniacs used carpet tack strips, a jar of loose tacks, chairs, and ultimately a pile of cinder blocks to punish each other. Both men were slammed on their backs on top of the blocks and the tacks. Tremont couldn’t quite put Stockade away until he did the unthinkable and hit the biker in the head with a cinder block. He got his opponent into the casket.
After the bell Tremont honored Stockade for the wrestler that he is. Class.
The office wisely scheduled this match for right before intermission. They had to change out the apron.

7. A.R. Fox Open Challenge: A.R. Fox (with Ms. Fox) vs. “Hot Sauce” Tracey Williams. W – Williams
A.R. Fox appeared to spontaneously enter the ring and demanded an opponent. Anyone in the locker room with the guts to try. Williams quickly answered the call and in a few short minutes Fox found himself tapping out. This was a shock indeed.

8. “Best Friends” (Trent Barreta and Chuck Taylor) vs. Dan Barry & Super Cop Dick Justice. W – Best Friends
A lively and comedic match. Dan Barry’s regular Team Tremendous partner Bill Carr broke his foot a few days ago in a match in CA. He found another member of the law enforcement fraternity to fill in. Super Cop Dick Justice is beloved by the Beyond crowd. His befuddled ring persona is quite entertaining and in no way reflects his ring skills. The Best Friends and Mr. Barry added their own humor to the mix. The BF’s won, though it could have gone either way.

Something Weird The Professor Didn’t Quite Understand:
The video monitor was taken over by an “Anonymous” type message. The Professor, at ringside, was shoved out of the way by a group of men wearing Guy Fawkes masks. This group of anarchists entered the ring and enacted a savage beat down of Dan Barry. (Apologies for not knowing the story line behind this, this was TWP’s second Beyond show).

9. Teacher vs. Student: Brian Fury vs. Donovan Dijak. W – Dijak
The Professor has been watching Dijak since he had his first pro matches and has seen him in some small venues in promotions such as SPW and Chaotic. Everyone went nuts when he hit the scene but TWP remained skeptical. Just because a guy is huge and looks like Vince McMahon’s Chippendales calendar does not mean he has what it takes to go the distance.
At this point the skepticism is 97% gone. Dijak has improved as a technician so much it is remarkable. Fury deserves much of the credit for this. Dijak is the real thing.

The Sensei and student showed the Providence crowd what they have been working on all this time. Multiple Moonsaults in and out of the ring, a mid-match Ref change, crabs both ways, the match had it all. Fury looked in top form and did it all to defeat the youngster. The problem with Dijak at this point is that he now combines height and size with skill. It will be hard for any man to beat him going forward. Just ask Busick. Dijak continually flipped Fury and kneed his face when he went down. In the end this move precipitated a pin. Both men embraced and Dijak lumbered back to the locker room. He was seen later slightly limping. No big surprise after what Fury did to him.

10. Atomicos Match: Team Pazuzu (Chris Dickinson, Jaka, Mike Draztik, Angel Ortiz, Pinkie Sanchez) vs. Da Hit Squad (Mafia & Monsta Mack), Nick Gage, Shynron, & Eddie Kingston. W – Team Pazuzu
If you were asked hypothetically if there was a dream team whom no one could beat and you answered Da Hit Squad, Gage, Shynron, and Kingston, you would be a genius. The fact that Team Pazuzu defeated this lineup shows that they are probably the most dangerous faction in professional wrestling today. It’s hard to see anyone who can stop them.

11: Grudge Match: Kimber Lee vs. Heidi Lovelace. W – Lee
Kimber Lee is still angry at Lovelace after last month’s tag loss. Her enmity was palpable. Lovelace showed us just how good she is as did Ms. Lee. Kimber Lee finished things with a top rope power bomb, something rarely or ever seen in women’s wrestling. She is indeed a wrestler. Period.

12: Death By Elbow (JT Dunn & Chris Hero) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) W – Death By Elbow
The hottest team in Beyond Wrestling takes on the best tag team in the entire world and wins. The Young Bucks are indeed the very best (not so much their Hanson intro music). Dunn stood out in this match and really showed the crowd what Hero has seen all along. This was an amazing finisher.
