Franklin resident Rich Palladino returns as ring announcer for Showcase. Quite a “get”. He’s the most in-demand announcer in The Northeast. His work in ECW, Chaotic, and Beyond Wrestling has made him an international property.

Match videos will be available after 10:00 p.m EST 18 April at our YouTube channel.

Match 1. Hugo Brito v. Kid Crazy. W – Kid Crazy

Trainee Hugo was introduced to the fans before the official start of the show and touted by Mr. Palladino as “The Future”. His trainer, Kid Crazy, must have thought that the youth was getting ahead of himself. Kid Crazy came out and challenged the kid to a match in which he ended up teaching him a painful lesson in humility. The Trainer showed the Trainee what a DDT feels like followed by an easy pin. The SPW School takes lessons seriously.

Match 2. Cargill Vinton v. Carlos. W – Vinton

Cargill Vinton has taken a dark turn. Despite a valiant effort and a few worthy submission holds by Carlos, nothing fazed the veteran. Carlos dived and missed from the top rope which gave Vinton an opportunity to slam him on his back for the pin. Mr. Vinton took punishment without much evidence of pain and seemed to end the match when he felt like it. This means trouble for new Champion Nick Night.

Match 3. Trash Man Rob Roberts v. Blade Runner. W – Blade Runner

The Trash Man (now solo as Trash Man Joe has relocated) is still in this game despite lots of miles and injuries galore. He gave a good effort against the giant Blade Runner, whose measured approach at cruelty is nearly impossible to counter. Luckily for all, Referee Rocha somehow managed to dissuade The American Nightmare from using his razor-sharp sword during the match. Blade Runner applies a neck breaker for the pin.

Nicholas Night Speaks

When you are the Champion, everyone is gunning for you. Mr. Night’s address to the fans was rudely interrupted by former Champion, and top contender Mr. Don Vega. Night left in disgust as Vega demanded a start to his match and warned The Champion that he is coming for him.

Match 4.  “The Punisher” Don Vega V. Chris Matrix. W – Mr. Vega

How do you beat a legend? Chris Matrix gave a spirited offense despite taking an exhausting beating from Don Vega. Mr. Vega tried throwing Matrix into Referee Warren but Matrix managed to avoid hurting the official. Mr. Vega then got himself “tossed” into the referee. As Matrix tried to remove him from the scrum, Vega put him in a hold and dropped him on his head followed by a pin.

Match 5. Todd Harris v. Diabolical Scott Ledeur (with Annabel) W – Harris

Young Harris did a good job of keeping Ledeur distracted by taunting his doll Annabel, and using his growing arsenal of technical moves. Scott did something cool if slightly illegal: He smothered Todd Harris with a hidden plastic bag and Referee Rocha was none the wiser. Harris took a page from the Candido Book of Smart Moves and stomped Ledeur on the back of his head, followed by a pin.

Match 6. Tag Team Championship Match: Team #1 (Richie Rich & Superstar Shawn Candido with Doctor Ozone) v. Mack Attack (Monster Mack & Trainee #1). W – Team #1

This was a 2 out of 3 falls contest. Amazingly, Monster Mack double-teamed Candido for the first fall within one minute of the bell. Doctor Ozone protested to The Commissioner to no avail. When things got tough, the wise manager provided Mr. Candido with a pair of brass knuckles. He did not use them, throwing them back to his manager. That is clear from direct ringside observation, so no cheating occurred. Monster Mack pinned Candido and the bell was rung. Mr. Palladino announced new Champions as Doctor Ozone implored Referee Warren to look in Monster Mack’s sleeve. Coincidentally, a pair of brass knuckles identical to Candido’s were found. Mack Attack disqualified and Team #1 retains their title. It’s possible that they were the same brass knuckles planted on MM but we saw no evidence this personally.

Match 7: Heavyweight Championship Match: Nicholas Night (C) v. Buck Nasty (with Papa Nasty). W – Night

The Nastys claim that Nicholas Night cheated in his Battle Royal Title win. They give no supporting detail or evidence to back up this claim. Buck Nasty was a great champion, brutally taking on all challengers. He could easily take the belt back, he’s that good these days. After an intense battle, Buck tried to do Night’s patented face breaker, missed, then was put in one by The Champion. Pin and title retained. Papa Nasty was not pleased.
