Referees: Anthony Warren, Jeremy Bell – Senior Official
Professor’s Note: A good show in a thankfully updated pavilion. An unusually cold night for July. The lighting was poor and a smoke machine was in use so our pictures are not great. We were unacquainted with many of the wrestlers featured on this card so apologies for errors with names. Corrections appreciated.
Match 1. Channing Thomas v. Timmy Thunder. W – Thomas
A serviceable opener. Thomas finishes off Thunder with a Randy Savage flying elbow and pin.
Match 2. Beau Douglas v. “The Bionic Bull” Dan Bidondi (with Mr. Old School). W – Bidondi
Mr. Norman announced that the winner of this match would receive a shot at the NWWE Open Weight Championship. The Living Legend was unfairly pummeled by Mr. Old School from outside the ring while the referee was distracted by The Bionic Bull. This kept him off his feet for much of the match. Bidondi gets a submission from The Legend for the win and title shot.
Match 3. Luscious Latasha v. Kennedi Copeland. W – Latasha
Veteran Latasha showed Copeland how it’s done. Kennedi had some good moves but this was a foregone conclusion.
Match 4. All New England Open Weight Championship: “Saturday Night Delight” Bill Abruzzi v. Sheik Ahmed Jordan v. Mr. 305 Marquise Wright (C), v. Dan Bidondi (with Mr. Old School). W – Bidondi
A triple threat tables match ruined by Bidondi. This was supposed to be a 3 way match. Before the bell The Sheik, his Confederate, and Abruzzi Pearl Harbored Wright outside the ring. Bidondi entered, using his title shot, and Wright paid the price with a chair beating and being thrown through the table. Wright may have died when Beau Douglas entered with a chair and cleared the ring. Bidondi won the match and the title but Marquise Wright lives to fight another day thanks to The Living Legend.
Match 5. Da Hoodz (Kris Pyro & Davey Cash) v. The Barbarians (Myzery & Damien). W – The Barbarians
Da Hoodz faced a surprisingly tough challenge from The Barbarians. Cash & Pyro had wrested control from the Savages when they K.O.’d Pyro with a chain out of sight of the referee. The Barbarians put Kris into a slingshot and that was the end of it. Da Hoodz was robbed.
Match 6. Ty Shyne v. Eric Holiday. W – Holiday
Two mid-card guys battle. Shyne lost his cool and pushed the referee which allowed Holiday to capitalize for a sneaky pin.
Match 7. Drake Evans v. Jimmy Jact Cash. W – Cash
Evans dominated the puffed up Cash for most of the contest. Cash ended up with the pin when he wisely took advantage of an opening.
Match 8. Tag Team Championship: Kool People (Sammy Deleon & DJ AC) v. The Snot (Kris Rex & Jon Punn). W – Kool People
The Snot entered wearing what looked like tank tops (fashion faux pax). They gave the bigger Kool People a lot of trouble in this match. We’ve been watching TKP since their rookie days under the tutelage of Benny Blanco. They are now a formidable team and deserving of the championship. TKP double teamed one of the lean Snot members for the pin. They were lucky to get out of this one.
Match 9. AIWF-Northeast Championship: Tokyo Monster Kahagas (C) v. “Pure Talent” Chris Escobar. W – Escobar
As good as Escobar is, it is hard to see anyone on the Independent Circuit who can legitimately best Kahagas. Escobar didn’t. He did the old feet-on-the-ropes unseen by the referee who was pushed aside a few seconds earlier by Kahagas. When the referee recovered he gave the three count. Escobar wins by fair cheating. We suspect that there will be a rematch in September.
