Showcase Pro Wrestling
August 13, 2017
Cumberland Fest
Cumberland, RI USA

Ring Announcer: Sgt. Muldoon
Referees: Zack Belair, Alisha Muldoon
Promoter: Chris Blackheart
Commissioner: Mr. Frank Rocha

Professor’s Note: Once again an outdoor show with intense sun. The workers did what they do without complaint. Great to see the return of “Kid Reflex” Eric Dylan and “The Bitter Man” Buddy Romano.

Match videos will be available after 6:00 p.m EST 16 August at our YouTube channel.

Match 1. Chris Cruise v. “Kid Reflex” Eric Dylan v. Carlos. W – Cruise

Carlos has come to the point in his young career where he can hold his own with much more experienced wrestlers. Dylan had some moves but couldn’t quite get traction on the other two. Carlos looked like he had it when he reversed a power slam by Cruise but the veteran managed a quick reversal of his own for the pin.

Match 2. The American Nightmares (Mad Dog Matt Storm & Blade Runner) v. Buck Nasty & Big Dog Butler. W – The American Nightmares

A small argument broke out between the men over which team was the biggest. We were concerned for the health of the ring with these 4 in there. Giants beating giants ensued. Blade Runner managed a slam and pin of the massive Buck Nasty as his partner Storm was wrestling Butler on the ground.

Match 3. Diabolical Scott Ledeur (with Annabelle) v. “The Bitter Man” Buddy Romano.  W – Ledeur

The return from retirement of the great Buddy Romano was an unexpected treat. He looks great and is in a new incarnation as “The Bitter Man”. What an athlete. He was tested severely by the deranged Scott Ledeur who is at the top of his game. We all held our breath as Buddy landed badly on his neck as Ledeur slammed and pinned him. We heard afterwards that he was O.K. Professional Wrestling is a dangerous sport, even if the athletes make it look easy.

Match 4.  The Fellowship (S.O.G. Ronnie Ribs & Dante with Doctor Ozone) v. Mack Attack (Monster Mack & Trainee #1). W – Mack Attack

Monster Mack went into the zone a bit as he kissed the female referee after being introduced. The Fellowship made a formal protest to Commissioner Rocha, fearing bias. Alisha handled this as a pro, and called the match straight down the middle. Doctor Ozone, always a factor, got KO’d by Ribs as he held Trainee #1 on the ropes. This allowed Mack Attack to double slam Dante, Monster Mack providing the pin and victory for the men from Normandy.

Match 5. “The Punisher” Don Vega v. Chris Matrix.  W – Vega

Student meets teacher. Super athlete Matrix acquitted himself nobly and took a lot of punishment from “The Punisher”.  As good as he is, virtually no one in New England can match Don Vega for skill, strength, and brutality. After a spirited contest that showed us how great Independent Wrestling can be, Mr. Vega drops Chris on his head and pins him.
