Showcase Pro Wrestling
November 18, 2017
Taunton VFW
Taunton, MA USA

UPDATE 20 NOV: We somehow missed including the important Heavyweight Championship match between Chris Matrix (C) and Sensational Scott Levesque. See match 4 below.

Ring Announcer: Sergeant Muldoon
Referees: Rob Roberts, Anthony Warren
Promoter: Chris Blackheart
Commissioner: Mr. Frank Rocha
Timekeeper: Jared Polito

Professor’s Notes: We have been absent from the past few Taunton shows due to business travel. After much experimenting the office has figured out the optimum room setup, making this now one of the best venues for an independent wrestling event in the area. Lighting is vastly improved, making for a great user experience. Strong show as usual featuring a new rivalry between Sensational Scott Levesque and young Champion Chris Matrix. Amanda Fox stole the show with the performance of the night.

Match videos will be available after 10:00 p.m EST 21 Nov. at our YouTube channel.

Lockdown: Chris Matrix Interview

Sergeant Muldoon did an in-ring interview with The Champion which was interrupted by The Premiere Wrestler in New England, Sensational Scott Levesque. Cargill Vinton is ranked #1 contender but he was absent so the former two-time SPW Champion demanded to jump the line. Despite Matrix’ initial objections he kept his cool and agreed to a match later in the evening.

Match 1. Tag Team Championship Match: Team #1 (C – Richie Rich & Superstar Shawn Candido) v. Mack Attack (Monster Mack & Trainee #1).  – W – Mack Attack DQ

Former Champions and ranked contenders Mack Attack gave Team #1 a good contest which was mostly even. When The Champions felt things turning against them they exercised their prerogative and attempted to leave the building. Mack Attack dragged both Rich and Candido back in the ring and the match continued until the masked men illegally double-teamed Candido for a pin attempt. Rich intervened justifiably and may have binged Monster Mack on the head with one of the belts. Unclear. Team #1 keeps their titles.

Match 2. Buck Nasty v. Carlos Esteban. W – Esteban

Carlos is growing in skill. He now does a lot of aerial spots off the top rope. He stood up to Nasty in this latest matchup. Buck thought he had it when he caught Carlos mid-air but Esteban found a way out and rolled up his opponent. Nasty was quite upset and beat Carlos down after the bell, getting a chair from ringside and preparing to use it to break the youth’s leg. Mr. Don Vega intervened and the intimidated Nasty left the ring. Mr. Vega offered to mentor Carlos in his pursuit of excellence. Carlos wisely accepted.

Match 3. Sons of Liberty Championship: Diabolical Scott Ledeur (with Annabelle) v. Makua The Island Warrior. W – Ledeur DQ

Makua had a chance to take the title until he got too smart. He knocked Ledeur off the top ring post into his companion at ringside. Annabelle took a nasty backwards bump when Scott was thrown on her from the ring. The living doll had no reaction and seemed unfazed. Scott righted his friend on the apron and brought her chair in to punish Makua. Referee Warren came to from the mat and Makua was on the wrong side of the referee’s sight line when he took the blame for a chair jammed in the corner. Makua is lucky to be alive after such an affront.

Annoying Ruby Bastain Spot

Ex-referee and now supposed wrestler gets his 5 minutes to set up his squash match against Gary Gold in Attleboro on Dec 2. It’s going to be ugly.

Match 4: Heavyweight Championship: Chri Matrix (C) v. Sensational Scott Levesque. W – Matrix

Apologies – Left this match out on first round of report. Our bad.

Chris Matrix faced off against his toughest challenge in The Premiere Wrestler in New England. This match showed that Matrix has matured and is qualified to hold the title. He matched everything The Master could bring and stayed cool and focused. When it seemed like Mr. Levesque had brought every technical challenge that exists in wrestling Matrix got onto his stomach and put a neck hold on forcing a submission. We can’t remember ever seeing Levesque tap and we’ve seen what must be 100 of his matches. Matrix prevails.

Match 5.  Alec Price v. Amanda Fox. W – Fox

Alicia Muldoon was interviewed by her uncle about her current health issues. It was a brave and heartfelt moment ruined by punk Alec Price. He came in and mocked his fellow athlete. Amanda Fox was having none of it and challenged the wise guy to a match. She lost the decision but won the moral victory by embarrassing the much larger male athlete, knocking him around for most of their match and taking everything he could mete out.  Fox was the performer of the night. She truly is the alpha female of SPW, and perhaps New England.

Match 6. Survivor Series: Nasty, Candido, Rich, Levesque v. Monster Mack, Trainee #1, Esteban, Ledeur. W – Nasty, Rich, Candido, Levesque

Rich was first to be eliminated when Trainee #1 countered his sunset flip for a pin. Candido and Rich protested that Trainee #1 pulled Rich’s hair. This is plausible from where we were standing. Next eliminated were Ledeur & Nasty who were counted out as they battled outside the ring. Candido pinned Trainee #1 after he suffered from a “Good old-fashioned wishbone” administered by Levesque and Candido. Candido removed Monster Mack after a sweet stomping to the back of the head. Carlos pins Candido off the top ropes.

Levesque was the ultimate survivor, pinning Carlos. No surprise here. After all, he is the top wrestler in New England.
