Our first Beyond show since November. The promotion is still going strong. Great job by everyone involved.
1. Pre Show Match: Jay Freddie v. Wheeler Yuta. W – Yuta (Submission)
Seeing Jay Freddie was worth the $35 dollar admission. He’s looking great and gave the younger Yuta a lesson in mat wrestling. Yuta gets lucky and forces a tap out by the legend.
2. Joey Janela & Penelope Ford (“Janelope”) v. Brian Milonas & Ace Romero. W – Janela & Ford
Penelope Ford managed to distract Acey Baby big time with her feminine charms, much to the dismay of partner Milonas who kept trying to get Romero to focus on the match. Janelope was outweighed by hundreds of pounds. Janela and Ford got in plenty of licks despite facing two giants. Janela did the near impossible when he body slammed and pinned Ace Romero. The annoying Chuck O’Neil attacked Janela after the bell and announced that Matt Riddle is after him at Americanrana 2017.
3. “Hot Sauce” Tracey Williams v. David Starr. W – Starr (Submission)
These two were fairly evenly matched though in our opinion, Mr. Starr is the more skilled and experienced of the two. Starr finishes Williams with an interesting leg hold resulting in submission.
4. Elimination Match: Karen Q. v. Deonna Purrazzo v. Tasha Steelz. W – Purrazzo
Karen Q. and Ms. Purrazzo put a double hold on Steelz, causing a tap out. Purrazzo then managed to pin Karen Q.
5. Dan Barry v. Supercop Dick Justice v. Johnny Cockstrong v. Stan Styles v. Jarek 1:20 v. Swoggle. W – Barry
Too many people for one match. There was some good comedy and some fun watching Swoggle bite everyone on the behind. It would have been more interesting to see these A players in singles competition. On the other hand, we’ve criticized Beyond Wrestling in the past for having too many matches on one card and we realize that there are a lot of people in the back to showcase. Barry finishes things by pinning Justice.
6. EYFBO (Draztik & Ortiz) v. The American Destroyers (Dijak & Webb). W – EYFBO
EYFBO sported their TNA Tag Team Championship belts as they entered the ring. This was a tough match for all but Draztik and Ortiz dominated. Dijak went up top one two many times and was cornered by the wily EYFBO who threw him on Webb who they then pinned handily. Webb was heard complaining to Dijak on the way out that everything Dijak told him to do didn’t work. Trouble for The American Destroyers?
7. Alpha Sigma Sigma (Big Daddy Beluga (Brick Mastone) & Anthony Green) v. Team PAWG (Lufisto & Jordynne Grace). W – Team PAWG
Green entered the ring area with a small love doll with “Lufisto” written on its forehead. Poor taste. Beluga challenged Grace to an “ass-to-ass” contest and came out the loser. The women took control and threw Beluga out of the ring, after which Lufisto taught the punk Green a lesson and pinned him for the win.
8. Keith Lee v. Michael Elgin. W – Lee
The most interesting match of the show. Two giant men with surprising speed and an impressive array of skills. These two beat the hell out of each other and neither would give an inch. Elgin body slammed and German Suplexed the gigantic Lee numerous times. Impressive. Lee manages the win by putting a Jackhammer on Elgin.
9. Jon Silver v. AR Fox. W – Fox
Jon Silver kept calling out Battista but AR Fox answered the call. They were in the air, on the floor, diving multiple times into the crowd, in a virtual stalemate. Silver go too cute when he announced a “Batista Bomb” which Fox reversed for a roll up and the pin.
10. Doom Patrol (Jaka & Chris Dickinson) v. Jonathan Gresham & Zack Sabre Jr. W – Doom Patrol
Gresham has a real problem with Dirty Daddy. He could barely contain himself to keep to the form of the tag team contest. Sabre Jr. managed to cool him down enough to be effective but we couldn’t help but notice that every time he had Jaka in a hold, his eyes were burning into Dickinson. Sabre Jr. showed us some interesting hand holds. The match could have gone either way when Jordynne Grace interfered, which resulted in Dickinson rolling up Gresham for the pin. Jordynne and Gresham had an on mic spat and challenged each other to a singles match next month in Somerville.
