“Revenge in Rockland”
April 17, 2015
Rockland Teen Center Rockland, MA USA
Commissioner: Marc Greene
Ring Announcer: Sean Feeney
Commentary: Beau Douglas, Marc Greene
Referees: Mike Dube, T.J. Richter, Rob Tuttle(sp.)
Messrs. Greene and Douglas sure know how to give the fans their money’s worth. 11 matches, all of which were top shelf. VCW is a leading Northeast Promotion and deserves to be treated as such. Make sure you put their shows in your rotation. You won’t be sorry.
Note: The Professor does his best to attend shows in as many promotions as possible but can’t be everywhere. He is sometimes fuzzy on specific story lines and individual wrestlers. He does his best. Please write to the Professor with corrections and names so that he can revise and make sure that all the workers get the recognition they deserve. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
1. “Double A” Carlos Gabrial vs. “The Biggest of Them All” Benny Jutz. W. – Jutz (Thanks Mr. Greene for clarification)
A good opener between a Cruiser Weight and a guy who looked like a Boxer. The Rage apparently holds Gabrial’s contract and humiliated the youngster by making him get on his knees and apologize for some misdemeanor, unknown to this correspondent.

There was some good technical wrestling in this match, including Tilt-a-Whirls, a Hurricarana, and a good old boot to the face. Gabrial ended up missing a Moonsault and his opponent reversed a Helicopter Spin for a pin.

2. Cruiser Weight Championship 5 Man Elimination Match. Participants: Nicky Knoxville, Shawn Nardone, Drew Solo, The Rage, Jacoby (with Doctor Ozone). W. – The Rage
Again, apologies for not knowing the proper names of five fine athletes. The Professor has become an instant fan of the VCW Cruiser Weight Division and will focus on this group going forward.
As in most matches with this many men, it was confusing and hard to follow and record the sequence of elimination. The point is that The Rage outsmarted and outwrestled the rest of the pack and won the title easily. This man has charisma. We hope to see him in other situations around New England.

3. The Ladies Man Teddy Goodz vs. Tomahawk. W. – Tomahawk
Tomahawk came in and would not stop dancing for what seemed like 10 minutes. This frustrated The Ladies Man who took a seat ringside. The Ladies Man managed to get the warrior in a test of strength (which he won). Tomahawk was in too weird a mood for the Ladies Man to get his measure. The Native American blocks a Superplex and gets the pin.

4. VCW Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match. The Brotherhood (Evan Siks & Kyle Storm) vs. The Fellowship (G.A. West & Ronnie Ribs w. Doctor Ozone) vs. The Great Outdoors (Current Champions: The Lumberjake and Big Bear). W. – The Great Outdoors
The Professor finds more than 2 Tag Teams in a match to be frustratingly confusing. This being said, when you have three of the top teams in New England, it’s going to be a good match.

Some highlights: G.A. West tried in vain to power slam the 400+ pound Big Bear. The Bear beat the snot out of Ronnie Ribs. The Ursine wrestler smothered G.A. West with a big splash which would have caused a normal man to expire. The Brotherhood focused on The Lumberjake, paying particular attention to one leg. The Lumberjake dived out of the ring on Storm, Siks, Ribs, and The Bear. G.A. West then did the same on all of them including The Lumberjake.

5. Slyck Wagner Brown vs. Delicious Dan Terry. W. – Brown
Dan Terry, The Fittest Man in The World, who has been compared to Hercules, really knows how to interact with fans. One small boy wanted a handshake and Mr. Terry offered a friendly hand…after scratching himself in an area we won’t mention. He kindly offered to let a woman at ringside feel his ample muscles and she said “There’s nothing to feel”. Ouch. Sometimes fans are rough.
The Return of SWB. Image: The Professor
The match was scientific as one would expect from athletes of this caliber. SWB went for the win with a Sunset Flip that didn’t quite catch. Dan kept his hands on the rope for an effective block when Referee Dube for some inexplicable reason kicked his hands off the rope. SWB rolled the off-balance Terry up for a pin. Since it was a Referee doing it, it must be fair.

6. Marc Greene Interviews VCW Heavyweight Champion Nick Fahrenheit. Dan Terry takes Championship
Mike McCarthy quickly interrupted this interview to compliment the champion and tell him that he would give him his best in their match later in the evening. He did this by tricking him into a handshake that was really a beat down followed by a C.T.F.O. Mr. McCarthy then left the ring area to prepare for his match.

The Fittest Man in The World ran in with his Cash & Carry briefcase and demanded to exercise his title shot option. This was permitted and Terry pinned the semi-conscious champion. Dan Terry was proclaimed the new VCW Heavyweight Championship by Commissioner Greene. Smart is smart and fair is fair.

7. VCW LiveWire Championship Match. “Pimp Daddy” Mike Paiva (C) vs. “The Mind Eraser” Mike Graca. W. – Paiva
This correspondent found it curious that a relative newcomer was given a shot at this prestigious title. Perhaps it was the office’s idea of throwing fresh meat to a lion. The Super Pimp had little trouble destroying the kid. Not to say that Graca does not possess talent and potential, but putting him in the ring with Pimp Daddy was cruel.

Mr. Paiva did a lot of damage to the youth. Of particular note was biting his head and putting him into one of the worst abdominal stretches ever. Paiva pinned him with a handful of tights for good measure.

8. Frankie Vain vs. “The Devil’s Reject” Brandon Webb. W. – Vain
Two guys who are legends in New England. Frankie Vain is a recent Top Rope Heavyweight Champion. It was good to see him this far afield from his southern New England Base. Webb is a mainstay of many companies. He always puts in 1000%.
Both men put on a classic match worthy of their stature and skill. The Devil’s Reject stepped on Vain’s back and slammed his face hard into the mat. Vain did back-to-back Belly-to-Back Suplexes on a pained Webb. Frankie Vain slammed Webb for the pin.

9. Rockland Grudge Match. Tim Lennox vs. Sean Feeney. W. – Lennox
Tim Lennox was given the right to declare a match stipulation due to his recent defeat of Evan Siks. He declared this a Mosh Pit Match which is a Lumberjack Match with the proviso that the ringside wrestlers get to beat the tar out of the two opponents as they see fit. (They did). A Masked Wrestler got into the ring and gave the hapless Feeney an elbow to the head. He turned out to by Lennox Senior, not seen recently due to health issues. Tim Lennox finished Feeney off with a Pile Driver.
The Brotherhood entered and ambushed Lennox which resulted in multiple wrestlers intervening. Commissioner Greene decided to use this mayhem as the start of the Cash & Carry Battle Royal.

10. “Cash & Carry” Battle Royal. W. – Todo Loco
A classic Battle Royal with some fine participants. A highlight for The Professor was when Mr. Siks military pressed one of the Cruiser Weights and threw him over the top rope. Siks and Todo Loco were the last 2 and went over the top together. Todo held onto the ropes and was declared the winner.

11. VCW Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match. “The Masshole” Mike McCarthy vs. Nick Fahrenheit vs. Dan Terry(C). W. – Terry
All 3 men gave a performance to remember. Terry Snap Mared McCarthy off the top rope. The Professor has never seen that before. Fahrenheit did a head stand off the top turnbuckle and used the leverage to put his feet into McCarthy’s abdomen. That could have been lethal but McCarthy somehow survived. Fahrenheit knocked out McCarthy and Terry sneaked in a split second for the pin. Dan Terry keeps his hour-old title.
